"Why does anyone use a particular supplier? Price is one element but with margins so tight between suppliers other factors play more important roles. Delivery times, Credit levels, Advice, Guidance, Special Offers, & Loyalty Schemes, are all used to differentiate one supplier from another.
But the two real value adds which are perhaps less obvious are, Courtesy and a No Quibble Returns Policy. It is these last two areas that AK lift themselves above most of the other suppliers that XXXXXXX use.
Whilst they like others offer excellent prices and incentives, and are more than happy to give advice on products and services, where they really differ is in their approach to doing business.
As we all know things go wrong, it's often no ones faults it just happens, with AK when we have made mistakes or when other issues have arisen AK always resolve the problem in our favour, which gives me the confidence to allow other members of my team to order items with confidence knowing I'm not going to have to cross check every item.
We also don't get swamped with calls on "this weeks special offer" on items we never buy, but are kept abreast of specials on the things we do buy, their knowledge of our business and buying practises again put them a step or two ahead of the competition.
